I'm in the process of updating my "Eisenhower Appreciation Medal Book". New title is still under wraps.

However, I wanted to share Frank Gasparro's dual torch design that he incorporated and repeated on his 1960, 1961, and 1962 medal designs struck by the Bureau of the Mint.

The dual burning torches represent the concept of liberty.

You can see the Frank Gasparro's initials, FG, on the bronze medals (right torch lower). As for the silver medal, paperwork from the National Archives and Records Administration proves that the "Eisenhower Appreciation Medal" was designed by Frank Gasparro (you can also find evidence in congressional records).

This would be an interesting medal exhibit topic ...

It is a simple, yet appealing design. I thought that I had seen it on another Mint medal with that design other than the 3 you mention, but maybe I'm mistaken.

The dual burning torches design has been modified/enhanced on the miniature Kennedy medal within the last 15 years or so. It looks much better. As for the 3 inch version, I'm not sure if any changes have been made.

Very minor changes were also made to the Macarthur miniature medal reverse when it was released as part of the commemorative 5-star generals issuance in 2013.
