Request any input as to condition and grade of this coin. The obverse looks a little dimmer but had to photo under different conditions than the reverse. Using the optimizer I could not post many earlier photos even though the count was below 100 lb and in the green. The luster is the same on both sides.

Are those dark areas on the reverse toning, residue or just lighting issues?

I lightly rubbed the area between the spokes in the rear wheels with a tooth pick and removed some material. Must be some type of reside or tarnish? Is soaking in distiller water OK? Don't want to damage finish.

Ouch ... please stop doing that. Your well intentioned efforts to improve the coin are certainly going to decrease the collector value.

The coin is authentic and AU in grade ... a lovely but alas common date classic silver commemorative.

Right, be careful. Use a Q-tip if anything. Anyway, no harm done I'm sure, and I would agree with mid-AU as a grade.
