"Is it real gold?"

1/2 oz of .999, correct?
$620 seems a tad high even at the present level of gold.

I figure all the sweet modern gold coins will able to be had for way less then present values sometime in the future, or I will be much more able to afford them. If not, well I guess my collection will lack that shiny glitter of solid gold.
Rest in Peace

The only spouse coin I bought was the Jefferson. I had a feeling it might really go up in value. I am not a coin investor, but I felt it would be fun to have a coin which really appreciated in value.

My budget would not allow me to buy any other spouse coins. Way too expensive for me.

Yes.....they're "real" gold.... 1/2 ounce (of either .900 or .999) and the price is $600.00 for uncirculated and $620.00 for the proof.
Before the "explosion" I had bought two .999 $50.00 gold Buffalo's.....the $50.00 Gold Eagles, a gold Spouse coin.......and other gold coins....
Of the 64 or so Spouses to be honored in the 16 year program....I'll just have my Dolley Madison (and yes I jumped when gold was flying---before it got worse---cause I just wanted "one", but of course....paid too much on that one!)
BUT THAT'S DONE NOW !... NO MORE FOR ME ! ....NOT AT THESE PRICES ! ........ MERCY ME !...

the First Spouse coins are 1/2oz of 24kt gold(.9999). Currently, 37 spouses(including the Liberty representations) are eligible with the program ending in 2016.
