I found a whole bunch of these 2000 quarters (around 300 of them or so) just sitting hidden in my grandpa's dresser. And yes I'm keeping all of them lol. Haven't checked all for errors yet.

Being a little confused with how grading works with shiny looking coins... I was curious to what grade it may be considered as? I don't know if that is what's considered AU or is it more in the MS range? They were in plastic rolls if that helps.

Can just try and grade the January Pride coin below. But I listed several others in a group just to show.

AU (almost uncirculated) in a perfect world was picked from circulation exhibiting only the slightest of wear. MS (mint state) came from a mint roll, unhandled. There are different types of plastic rolls, mint roll or otherwise. While 300 quarters seems like a lot, the mintage of y2000 25c monthly circulation release was somewhere between 35 and 50 million each. They were very popular as a keeper.

If you've noticed the various MS grades here:

keep in mind that the few examples of high MS have been graded by a professional grading company at an average cost of at least $10 per coin and in doing so, determining an exact MS grade of mass produced steel-plated coin is a money losing venture. For most collectors after the end of silver coin, a MS sample with a sharp strike, no scratches or dings, no fingerprints or other signs of handling is about as ideal as it gets.

Good luck in your search for varieties!
