Recently acquired this mini version of a Japanese 100 Mon coin but it is only 21mm X 16mm. Has anyone ever encountered anything similar? Any thoughts on what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

China churns out stuff like this by the bucket full. If it's not full size (and not the exceedingly rare 50 mon) then it's a phony.

Real 100 mon should also have the validation punches on the sides of the coin. I've never seen a fake that wasn't missing those.
