I answered to some very old posts about the Lithuanian medieval coins,as I understood, that there are not enough specialists of this country and time. I'm interested in it,and hope,can help with the questions about the Lithuanian coins from 1495 to 1653, so looking for Your questions  |

This 1565 half-groat is genuine,4SA165-34 in Ivanauskas catalogue but this is one of most common coins, without any rarity and can cost about 10 usd. I can not say anything about the slab, but it (and grading :)) are some strange.Maybe it is genuine low value coin in fake slab...... can You check the slab by the number?

Yrs, this is also genuine 1518 half-groat,and not common, interesting of ancient A in obverse and reverse legend, 205K8 in Huletsky catalogue and 1S161-6 in Ivanauskas catalogue. Ivanauskas shows this coin as RRR with catalogue value 75-150 usd in VF, but I don't think so. Your coin really is not so rare, IMHO, + some decentrated , and I can valuate it about 15-20 usd .

Thank you, the more common the better, if I win the auction then at least I know they are not fakes, apart from the slabs lol
it will be a nice addiction to my small but growing collection

Does your experience extend to 17th century solidii from Riga? I bought about 30 of them for $1 US from an LCS a few months ago. I don't know if they would be worth scanning individually and posting. Here's a picture of the 28 I have not removed from their initial packaging.  Here is one of the better ones which I have pulled out and scanned individually.   Edited by Arkie

Well, the coins of our neighbors is'nt my theme, but I'll try to help. The best spec of this theme is Estonian Gunnar Haljak, You'll get full information in his catalogue, which is on sale in Haljak's internet site.
The coin, You removed, is Riga's under rule of Swedish Queen Christina schilling. Unfortunately, the date has gone due to decentrated coin. The date must be in legend after the city name RIG, RIGE or RIGENS on reverse.
You can find expensive solids (schillings) among Yours, if You are lucky. The most expensive and rare are with the Roman numerals in date, bishops cap at the down of obverse and few others.
