On this same note, I have a '21 Morgan that was apparently glued to something. The glue is still on the back. Will an acetone bath, and gentle wipeing with a Q-tip hurt it? Is there a better way the remove it? I just got it so I don't have any pics ATM.

I'd try distilled water first. Many common glues are water soluble.

MorganNoob, yes, the actone bath and a VERY light q-tip should be fine.

I went to ACE last night and bought a can of acetone. After about 5 min half of the glue/epoxy was floating on the acetone. I gave it a nice gentle wipe with a qtip to make sure is was out of the grooves, and it looks great. Except the toning is really uneven because it didn't tone under the glue, but time will help that...

For one thing you first should have used a search on this forum for Acetone. Consider yourself lucky. I hope you rinsed the coin with distilled water or the residue from the evaporating Acetone may leave deposites on the coin. One to hard a push with a Qtip could have left a scratch on the coin. Note the ends of a Qtip, under the cotton, are not exactly what is nice on coins.
Always check you Acetone for impurities prior to usage on a coin.

That is why I went to ACE instead of using the girlfriend's nail polish remover.

I thought of that too, I held the swab as parallel to the coin as possible and only used the 'side' of it for this exact reason.

When I get my QX5, I will look and see if I left any marks, but I was about as gentle as possible...
