Hi all!

I am still trying to get to grips with some hammered coinage, I find the attributions so much harder than with milled pieces! I have got these three pieces, the two long cross pennies appear to be of Edward but they have distinctly different designs. The larger piece I think might be a groat of Henry VI but again, not sure. Any confirmation or help with mints etc would be most appreciated!

Thanks all,
Jack

Yeah I find them extremely tricky too...

The first looks like Edward IV, and I can see on the reverse it says LON DON running around from 12 to 6 oclock (inner circle of text)

The second and third both have CAN TOR running from 6 to 12 on the reverse (Canterbury mint) (The full legend Civitas Cantor means city of Canterbury)

Hi David, thanks for suggestions. I think you might be right with the Edward IV attribution, now I am looking for it I can almost see the shape of the lettering. Thanks for the mint attributions aswell.

Echizento, thank you for the literature suggestions.
