There are permanent buildings, the American Legion has a building w/ beer garden, next door is the 4H food/drink building and a county concession building. So I brought my new AT Pro by Garrett and found 7 quarters, 1 dime, 8 pennies, this afternoon. Not bad for the first time out, with a new machine. Next time I will work the area that the Carnival was set up. Webekin

Another day at the fair grounds, chevy car trunk key, 4 quarters, 9 dimes, 2 nickels, and 12 pennies. Ground is saturated, easy messy digging. Getting closer to the silver found a 1964 nickel, and 1965 quarter. Webekin

Returned wanted to hunt the tree line on the north and west side, thinking fair goers might have seeked the shaded area during the heat of the day. Hunted the north side, found a penny right off and then a 1981 dime, nothing as I got closer to the edge of the creek bank. Moved over to a small arena edge, found 2 quarters and a penny and a dime. Moved to the beer garden, lots of tall grass found 3 more quarters another dime and 3 more pennies. Total clad for the day, $1.60. Webekin

Started the day at a farmstead with 2 other hunters from Wichita and Moran Kansas! I had poor luck, Brian found some buttons, including a Military button! Bret found, before I left for the fair grounds, a Memorial penny and toy trucks! At the fair grounds I found 6 quarters, 3 dimes, and 13 pennies! Webekin

Had to make trip to the Vet for Riley one of our dogs. Stopped at the fairgrounds, there was an auction in process, but I found a place to park and hunted the area the carnival sets up in. Found 1 quarter, 5 dimes, and wait for it, 25 pennies!!! All clad. At one point thought I had my first silver, color should have told me NO. It was to large for a nickel, to small for a quarter, wiped it with my ground cloth, and there was an eagle with stars around the rim, spit on it and wiped the other side, NO CASH VALUE, Ahhhh, and I had already given thanks to the father for directing me to this spot. Well it is a nice token the Eagle has a shield and is clutching leafy stems, looked like a very old coin. Webekin
