Don't know it as a known variety but Ive seen it with varying degrees on almost all years of nickels 1920-1929, the one the listing is quite a fair amount. On my desk sitting right beside me I have one similar from 1926, I don't have my phone or camera with me but this was taken with my USB microscope. I probably have at least 1 from every year except 25, they're not that uncommon I usually just throw them back in the bulk rolls unless they're nicer condition or extremely apparent.

Edit forgot to add the usb microscope picture of mine lol sorry

It is not a variety, it's an error.
Like Talonbat said "they're not that uncommon".
Some people will slab anything.
Of course it's the only one certified, who'd spend $7 or more to slab a $2 item, can't believe someone paid $10.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Louis will certify anything that is round and metallic .. and he'll also let the owner say what he wants on the cardboard. As stated before, they are a little uncommon but very plentiful.

The 'double 2' here refers to Machine Doubling. ICCS will do the same when it comes to machine doubled dates.

It is only worth a premium to those who are looking for such things...
