I cast a vote for AU50.

I think maybe to high... I would say more like EF-40,

To many dings and dongs for AU

But.. Still a very nice coin.

Definitely not AU. The following is certified AU:

EF has to show a hint of mint finish between the letters of the legend. On the picture I can't see any of that. The eyebrow seems too worn away to make an EF. But this could be due to the coin orientation.

As SHAFTA9a said - too many obvious defects overall. My own grading strickly based on those pictures is VF-35.

I agree; close to EF but a few too many nicks/hairlines.

Yes Marc when I will be ready I will not just get this coin certified but all my Canadian coins I'm looking at about $ 2000.00 for all my coins at ICCS.

Well, snaz grading is a subjective matter, isn't it?... If you compare with an ICCS AU just above in this post Andre's coin can't be this close to an AU. As I stated, EF has to show some mint finish between the legend and maybe the picture does not do justice to the coin, but I can't see any. Even after ICCS' revelation I still find way too many bumps and bruises to qualify for EF. This coin was better off in its ICCS holder...

Bottom line, I would not buy this coin at EF price point, certainly not EF-45.

Lustre or not, the surface is very clean. And, it's a good thing ICCS doesn't grade from photos, because I suspect the appearance of the actual coin merits their grade--why wouldn't it? I'm all for conservative grading, because it raises the standards of people who sell raw coins.

Kurt, mint finish presence isn't a "nice to have" technically it is a prerequisite for EF-45 at least based on Charlton grading guide. Evidently, the surface is NOT very clean either. You'd really buy this coin as EF?
