I wasn't going to start doing this out of fear of fakes. I bought this coin from Scottdale Silver, apparently they are very well respected in the Coin World. Thinking of buying an onza proof today from them.

I am going to join ANA and then get them graded? Thoughts? I have 4-5 other coins I need graded too, one being a cherry picked 84CC GSA that I paid $225. It's a dcameo, MS63 I think.

Joining ANA is a good idea, since you get direct access to NGC. But you gotta think about if the coins are worth getting graded.

I'm going to try and send in some proof coins I'm in the process of buying. I'm into the Libertad proofs, it's good to get them graded. I've also got a couple of nice Carson City GSA coins I need graded.

How much is it to get coins graded?

@TMCD75 did you ever get an answer on grading costs? It can run from $25-$40 per coin...
What did you learn about your libertads?

It is great to see a post about Libertads that I didn't have to start myself (even if it is a couple of years old).

I pay $17 at NGC (not including shipping) to have my Libertads graded. As world modern up to 2k value.

Is $17 a member rate?

I guess...I am not a member of NGC, but as a member of ANA I think I get member rates on NGC. ANA is about $25-30 per year. I have the ANA for other reasons, but the ability to submit directly to NGC is definitely a plus, I use it a lot.
