Proofs can be found in the wild more often then people think. When I was searching halve regularly, I had a box once with over 100 76 clad proofs in it. And yes I kept em all. Probably was a coin shops dump.
Would you not imagine that a certain number of proof sets given to kids by grandparents trying, but failing, to interest the kid in collecting end up in circulation?
