I have a similar coin, a flat piece of metal with barely anything on it!

Probably a flattened coin, perhaps by a train.

I doubt that it was flattened by a train. If it were - it would not retain its round shape.

I do not - however- have any idea what coin/token you might have.

You sure it's 22 mm and not, say, 32? The numbers don't add up, the density comes out to higher than lead.

Assuming 32 mm, only Numista result that's anywhere close is Venezuela 1 centavo (2 types from the 1840s and 1850s). I'm about 95% sure it's not this either, but without a specific diameter figure it's hard to say.

It is a well worn token, Probably a pocket piece carried for good luck. Moving around with all the stuff in pockets being softer than most coinage it would be worn. May have been a good luck token minted as such,a childhood arcade token from their youthful hang out,a heads/tails flipper token.
