Nice choice, Clvlys!

But I will disagree with second part of:

Quote:
They are very nice looking coins and should hold their value

as we could observe, the set appreciated by collectors of NCLT, while people who like the circulation coins, will not jump on this offer (although will be agreed that set is good).
So, when some of the coins will carry the premium, the hunters for the entire set will always look for discounted "deal". I don't believe that on ebay people will pay issue for it. Usually the sets that have no "singles editions" - hold the value, while the set, the coins from which could be obtained as "singles" - loose the value.

So why all the subs "sold out"?:
1. Artificial sold-out - many went to CCC
2. Many people order sub, get the Dollar, cancel sub.

I prefer to order 5oz $1 Silver Coin in single package instead of order a subscription, get first coin then cancel rest of coins.

CC&C does send you the coins in the boxes, even with subscription. I just received my advance notice from them and if you order subscription you will get a proof set right down to the penny. Nice!! Both come with wooden boxes. Whereas RCM sends you the coins in cardboard to place in wooden box. Plus I get 3 times credits for ordering before Thursday.

It is a VIP exclusive. You receive with the last coin only.

@justsilver

Call them if you want subscription. See what they have to say about the offer. You never know. That is if you are interested.

@New1954

Thank you for the advice.

I know some dealers are already selling to their VIP customers on Big Coin Subscription. ( at least 3 dealers )
I have chance to get one but I am not interested in whole set ( too expensive for me )

I am interested in 5oz $1 Silver Coin only. ( first coin of a serie and I like the design )
I will grab a few coins if I found source.

p.s. Spent all my money on NGC PR69 Delta Gold Coin that I won on ebay's auction anyway, USD$1,251 is a bargain.

I got the advanced notice from Canadian Coin & Currency too but the single Goose coin is sold out. Only the subscription is available. Anyone manage to get a single coin from them?

This is what I saw when I logged in this morning:

"Single coin sold out before official launch."

I'm surprised, since this is a CC&C commission.

It appears that many of us want just the first coin. If a lot of buyers cancel their RCM subs after this coin, then there will be more singles available of the remaining coins. This should drive the price up of the first one.

It makes sense that the sets would be more valuable without the singles floating around on ebay.

Not sure of the logic of why the dollar version would be more valuable than the rest of the set, all same size designs and mintage, either whole series take off or tanks.

I just hope RCM learned a lesson on releasing a second set with color. The folks who purchased the selective gold set were not impressed and the color set has had poor sales.
Makes me wonder if the new designs for the 5oz 150th set will be color.

I think, the Dollar most popular here due to the design, that probably appeals to the most.

(without saying that other coins designed not good)

I don't get it either. I'd expect collectors would be interested in the full series or not at all.

Arguably, the goose dollar is the most iconic coin of the 1967 set, almost everyone has an original 1967 goose silver dollar somewhere in their collection, so in a way it makes sense for it to be released first. Depending on how the series does, I would imagine when the penny is released in august, it will also be a quick sellout. I personally have no interest in the wolf, bobcat, mackerel, or hare.

I look at it this way when subscribing to this big coin series: the Goose dollar coin will increase in price as will the one cent big coin. I cannot predict how high they will go;however, if each fetches 1,500.00 in the next year, is the subscription not worth it then?
