Hi all,

Seeking help from the German coins grading experts...I have this 1956 F 1 Mark. It looks beautiful and nicer than many AU or MS I've seen online but I don't know what range to put this in.

Here are some pics. Grateful if you could help me grade this coin :)

Thanks much

Due to the scratches around the date, this would be XF here in Germany. Anyway, it's a better than average coin of this type.

West german 1 marks are some of the most difficult coins to grade from just photos... The one you posted looks from the photos to be about on par with a mid grade AU (US grading), but in hand may be a bit lower or higher

I agree, with the slight scratches around the date area this would grade vorzüglich (EF+).
If not, most dealers here would call this vorzüglich/stempelglanz (approx. equivalent to AU 55+in the US).

I miss those D-Marks! it was fun looking for scarcer dates in pocket change back then.
