I ordered some uncleaned ancient roman coins. After cleaning, most of the coins I can identify, but I am having trouble finding this coin.

I have also placed an order for a few hundred uncleaned coins. Any suggestions on books to help me identify ancient Romans?

Thank you.

Might be a denarius of Severus Alexander. I'm sure one or more of our Roman experts will be by to help. If you can get in tighter for better pics, it might help the process.

For the rest of the coins, try this site:

This covers probably 90% of what you are likely to find in an uncleaned lot. Just learn to figure out what kind of imagery to expect, and the rest is a breeze.
