Hi,

Most of the coins being shown are older then mine but bring up a question..... When did they start putting a HB on the bail of goods in the canoe? I may be missing it but don't see it on the coins posted here, but it is on both the '65 and '66 I have.

Thanks,
Glen

Hi Glen

I have a collection of silver dollar from 1935 to date and as far as your HB it is printed on the 1935 also so must be commun marking for these years.
This is my opinion

Thanks Andre,
I believe you've recently posted about a '45 you have and I don't see it on there. Do you know if that is a high wear area? Maybe that's why I don't see it all the time. You guys have me looking so much closer to the details of the coins since I've been on this site!

Under a 20x microscope you see it Glen.It could be a high wear area for these silver dollar since the silve in these years was softer then the one whe have today witch are of 92.5% of pure silver

HB has been on all Voyageur dollars from the start in 1935. HB refers to the Hudsons Bay Company. For those that don't know, a voyageur is a travelling agent for a fur company.
