I have a 2007p & 2015p Jefferson nickel with a Cud error in the same spot. In between Monticello and the initials. Is this normal or did I just get lucky? Thank you for any information.

I think I see a small die chip just to the left of the initials (photo is a bit out of focus). The definition of a Cud includes it touching the rim.

I can see the die chip next to the FS initials on the left coin.
On the other one - I can see something extending out towards the rim from the roof top of Monticello. Need some closer images to see what that might be.

Most likely a chip. There is a youtuber names JBCoins and he has a lot of false information pertaining to error coins. Like that die chips are small Cuds or Cuds. But yes to the OP, a Cud must involve the rim

Here are some better pictures of the die chips. As you can see on one of the pictures I turned one of the nickels upside down so I could get them both in the picture. Thank you.
