Montagu 3. Sometimes mistakenly described as patterns, these halfpenny sized medalets are rarer than the farthing sized ones. It is interesting to note that although the coin is of halfpenny diameter it has been struck using the same portrait punches as were used in the production of the farthings (Montagu 15).
Similar in grade, or possibly a shade better than the specimen in the Nicholson collection.
