I am with Longnine on this one! Wait until all those brain tumors start showing up in our young and middle aged people and they will want to WHY? Heard a guy the other day saying its all how you hold the phone? Yeah, same thing with a gun! If you are looking down the barrel when you pull the trigger it will probably be hazardous to your health! Oh wait, a cell phone doesn't have a barrel? Maybe if you stand on your head while talking it would be absolutely safer and that would be great as all those folks who must be lost all the time while driving wouldn't have to be on the phone seeking directions! I just hope someday we can tell our kids about the "DO-GOODER REVOLUTION" in this country! You know when the mind your own business, average joe gets fed up with the self appointed, self righteous, "I have my own agenda for the world to live" by jerks who have caused us nothing but pain and agony for years and years. God, don't those people have a job or a life?

Unfortunately this isn't the first time, nor the last that "some" people will make this attempt. In an age of political correctness, the will of the American people continues to bend to the will of a select few. There was a purpose of serving the "many", but that time has passed. It would not shock me if the motto was removed. After all, there are only 88% of the world who believe in a higher being. Why not protect the rights of the other 12?
Just take a quick peak at the "15%" groups that we go out of way to protect currently? The claim is always the same. "We want to be treated equally." Make me special, and we will be equal.
So as we (America) tops 230 years, consider how long the empire can last. If history is any indicator, we are certainly on the path to destruction. You don't have to believe in God to see that fact. We live in a world, where "only my concerns" matter". "How rich can I get today". "How can I get to the top". When people only think about themselves, there is no room for "equality".

On the California 9th, I bet they swell with pride knowing that of all they accomplish, 95% is worthless. Wonder if the idiots in Tampa realize they inadvertently drew a target on their stadium?

I haven't heard another peep about the incident in Tampa after hearing it on the radio the other morning. Anyone else heard anything. Also the Indianapolis Star newspaper has started its criticisms of the Indiana legislature and our Governor for their two sided approach to smoking on state grounds or buildings. Be interesting to see where this one goes. Appears, unless something changes, our elected officials feel they are above the rules, regulations and the laws here in Indiana! What a bunch of _________! (Fill in the blank!

I hate to ask a dumb question here but what could someone have in their pockets that they could use to destroy the Tampa Bay Stadium? If they run the show like they do at Mullets Stadium down here, your not allowed to bring anything in with you. No coolers, no food, no nothing. Your allowed to bring lots-o- cash and high hopes with you.

I thnk it would be neat to have Motto and No Motto coins again. Other than that, I really don't care.

I agree with the fact that this gentleman wants nothing more than media attention. Any person with an inkling of intelligence knows that "In God We Trust" is a part of our national culture. These words powerful as they may be, are as american as apple pie, the american flag, the constitution and so on and so forth. The appearance of this motto on our money is also an excercise of freedom of speech and this supposedly intelligent man should realize it. He is also excercising his freedom of speech, so no constitutional infringement can be alleged here. He can ask the federal court all he wants to, but any good sensible judge would strike down this motion. Newdow also claims that his right to freedom of religion is being infringed upon. Totally asinine!! As the issue at hand has nothing to do with the practice of his religion. This man should go to other parts of the globe where you DO NOT HAVE the same liberty and freedom of choice of religion that we enjoy here.(readers can formulate their own assuptions on geographic locations) Newdows actions in and of themselves are protected by the constitution, the very document drafted and ratified by our founding fathers. And you had better believe that they were trusting in god. It is amazing that all those years ago, contempernious issues were not issues at all. The founding fathers had great ingenuity. I wonder if Mr. Newdow ever considers this!

Truthfully, I am more ticked off that congress is planning on removing LIBERTY from the new dollar coins. That's been there since the birth of our coins.

Even though the Constitution is a "Living Document" there are things you should never touch because of it. The Bill of Rights was written from the Bible "In God We Trust" was added by Honest Abe, and "Liberty" was there from the beginning of our Country. Both should never be touched.

Those words are an inherent part of America. I do not see how they are offensive as they are general in nature. In my opinion they should be left alone. Mike

Liberty was there from the beginning, and the Congress wants to uses there rights under the Constitution to remove Her. Whats his face wants to remove In God We Trust by useing a right written in the Constitution from the Bible. The Constitution is what is called a Living Document because it can always change. Those two items should never change. 1. Liberty 2. In God We Trust

I still believe it will depend on the "nutty" ninth Circuit Court's decision. If they come down favorable, then Mr. Newdow will have his moment of glory. Then I'm betting it will get reversed by a superior court.

I would like to point out that there are plenty of more important issues that they should be concerned with rather than finding ways to deface our money. Isn't it just wonderful that our tax dollars pay for things like this that should never be acted on or have time spent on them when the miscarriages of justice that our court system is allowing continue to run rampant?

I would guess a majority of people are unhappy with the Government as 2005 winds down. Can't blame it all on the Administrative Branch either. I saw and listened to Harry Truman, from my Dad's shoulders, in front of a railroad depot, and I can still remember him talking about the Do Nothing Congress. That was nearly 60 years ago. Have things changed that much?

Never tell the whole truth and never tell a whole lie that way there is always a way out! And, when all else fails, spend, spend and spend! The taxpayers will bail you out in the end (but not by choice)!
