Just noticed this on my 1872-H Canadian 50c.

Anyone have the same features on their 72-H half?

The 'E' in 'REGINA'

I'm surprised you've had no replies on this.
It looks like the "E" is nicely doubled and I would think die defining.
The reverse looks like a die gouge rather then a scratch from looking at the pictures. Which would also be die defining.
I don't really collect these so have no info for you, sorry.

Cheers, Bill

I like this doubling. Never had a Victorian half but I would like to find a coin like this ;)

I believe the 1872 example on Coinsandcanada exhibits similar characteristics.

Mine doesn't, but it does have doubling on the '5' and the 'E' in cents...
