I can't say that I have ever seen one of these offered for sale. Does anyone know what they are bringing?

PR66 sold at Heritage auction 4 years ago for $64000 so there's that.

It is a very desirable piece. I am waiting to find one at a flea market.

I think that is one of those coins (as it the case with any rare collectible) that when one comes up for sale you have to pay whatever the seller is asking or be prepared to go above what you are comfortable paying if it is an auction because you never know when another one will come up for sale again.

It's not surprising that these medals do not appear often, with a net mintage of just 47 pieces there aren't that many out there!

I have seen a couple in dealer cases over the years - at the larger/national coin shows, but mostly they appear at auction.

Unless the market is particularly soft when one comes up for auction, you can expect to pay $15K+ for a PF-63, $20K+ for a PF-64, $25K+ for a PF-65 and $30K+ for a PF-66.

If you find one in a given grade for less, you should consider it a good deal!
