Hello,

I found this in a box of assorted foreign coinage and am stumped.

Copper, ~24mm in diameter (US quarter size). Thickness of US dime (extremely worn). Reeded edge, not visible in photos.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Not ancient, overall "look" is similar to other coins I have from ca. 1700-1825.

Can't make sense of that shape on the front.

Very likely a gaming counter.

Kind of looks like designs I've seen on israeli coins. Try looking for israeli tokens maybe?

Bumping up this old thread since I noticed a post on the Treasurenet forum with a group of these tokens that appear related to the one in the OP.

Maybe it will help with the identification...?

It also seems that pmb333 hasn't posted since that initial post. <shrug> sadly, that happens.

Just a guess but I wonder if maybe they could be some kind of farm truck token - for pickers tally or something like that.

There is passing resemblance to the Irish tokens of Blake, Ballyglunin Estate with the Roman numerals valuation.

Also the borders and the plow / plough is making me think c. 1820s-1840s Canadian (the plow like that also used in US Hard Times Tokens) - I don't think this is it but it is interesting.

Do you have the weights for these?
