Yes!

I first documented my research findings of a 56 year old mysterious set of medals struck by the Bureau of the Mint (now called the US Mint) in 2014. For 56 years, the entire series was undocumented by the numismatic community and without general numismatic information.

Two books and roughly 5 months later (today), I created a website explaining this relatively still unknown US medal series outside my book (book content is copyrighted). I'm also in the process of finalizing my third book about these numismatic medals.

I even assigned non-commercial names (common name for an individual medal or entire series) that can be freely used by the numismatic community. The name....

President of the United States special Government medal or POTUS sGm for short. The entire series is called POTUS sGm Series.

The website (blog portion still under construction) was launched today: http://potus-sgm.com/

In my opinion, these US Mint medals are actually sleepers, if you can find them from a dealer or individual not aware of my two published books.

As an example, my historical price records shows that you could have purchased a Class 2 medal for $24.99 in July 2009. As of February 2016, a similar Class 2 medal sold for $619.00.

My website provides basic information about this numismatic medal series.

These numismatic medals are true-to-life presidential artifacts. These medals were either personally awarded by the President or issued with direction of the President. In addition, the silver and gold medals not awarded/issued were destroyed by mutilation by the US Treasury prior to the end of the President's term in office.

So...what was really discovered?

1. An undocumented series that was produced/issued by the US Mint.
2. 15 types of undocumented individual US Mint issues (with common theme).
3. First fully documented example of US Mint function to produce/issue special medals for a US Government agency (White House Office).

What is the significance about this discoveries?
1. Official names of the series was established by a numismatic research (out stepped the US Mint).
2. Official name for each of the 15 types of medals was established by a numismatic research (out stepped the US Mint).
3. Establishment of domain knowledge for the POTUS sGm series and individual POTUS sGm issues.
4. Identification of previously undocumented presidential artifacts.

Hello, congratulations! I know how difficult it can be to get something like this up and running. I notice that your website has a few quirks. As a designer, I wanted to offer to help out if you need any. Feel free to email me.

Nice round of last second bidding on this POTUS sGm today....

Medal was struck by the Bureau of the Mint. Keychain added by a Pentagon vendor.

Very historical presidential artifact. Only the 2nd specimen known to be sold on ebay.

The reverse shows President Eisenhower's 11-nation tour map. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleve...oodwill_tour

It matches this map (red path)

Imagine if you will.

A salt shaker is the entire knowledge base of Kennedy half-dollars.

I, as Kennedy half-dollar collector, discover and document a new DDO.

In essence, I added a grain of salt to the salt shaker. The salt shaker grew by a salt grain. The knowledge base of Kennedy half-dollars was increased.

This is where the fun starts. collectors/numismatists are searching for grains of salt to add to the salt shaker, thus being the discoverer of a specific piece of knowledge that contributed/expanded the entire knowledge base of Kennedy half-dollars.

Now image that a salt shaker has never existed for POTUS sGm for over 5 decades. A person comes along and creates a new salt shaker, thus establishing a US numismatic medal series. This person then adds more gains of salt (mintage, designer, purpose).

Is this person the discoverer of an entire US Mint series? Yes! The salt shaker was never formed by the US Mint. It took a numismatist to create the salt shaker and initially populate it.

Note: In the originally presented diagrams. The black circle is the salt shaker. The blue triangle is the grain of salt.

If the original diagrams were animated. The blue triangle would rise upward from the black circle to reflect an increase of the knowledge domain.
