* Please ignore the other coin, thank you)

I am not too much an expert in gold coins, and certainly not a modern one from the UK. What do you believe about this coin, genuine or not? I haven't seen the coin in hand - and I do not have any extra info about it as weight etc.

* I cannot find out how to separate the two coins in a program, sorry. Palle - Denmark

It is fake. The details look very soft, a common indicator of a fake. Just for reference the dollar is fake as well.

Just occasionally, these sovereigns, although fake, were made from gold that was slightly more pure than the original.

Gold sovereigns at the date of this coin were often used as bullion payment on the street in the Middle East.
To stop this problem, sometime after 1925, The Royal Mint produced millions of genuine sovereigns, frozen dated 1925, to maintain the reputation of the coin. The genuine coins flooded the fakes out of the market.

Check this one for weight; it may very well close to what the genuine coins should be.

Thank you, I was also quite sure it was not genuine - but I had to be sure. And it is not my coins. I do not buy modern copy coins.

Palle :)
