1890 Indian Head Error Cent. Large Deep Intruding Crack Across Both Sides of Planchet
Hello, I am trying to find information on my 1890 Indian Head Error Penny. It has a crack on the obverse side of the planchet that is very large, very deep intruding, goes diagonally from the upper right to the lower left and goes all the way across the coin. It also has what looks like a much skinnier, shallower, and shorter crack running parallel underneath it. Similar to the one on the obverse side, there is a large crack on the reverse side of the coin as well. This one runs diagonally from the lower right to the upper left of the coin, is much wider, and goes about half way to three fourths the way across. There is also lots of pitting throughout both sides of the coin. This penny is a darker color brown and weighs about 2.995 grams. I am looking to find information on the cause of the error, the rarity of this coin, and the value of this coin. Thank you for the help.
