Although this is self explanatory, I'd be interested to know a bit more about this 32mm token/commemorative medal - why they were produced, who for etc?

As it says on the reverse it was passed outat the first showing of that train. Common as a lot were passed out around here worth a couple of bucks.Basically what some one is willing to pay for it, which translates to how bad somebody wants it

I have one of those tokens also that was handed down from my Grandma and also dated 1934 and I read in a token guide that some were not dated.
Thanks for the reference guides for the info.

Apparently to commemorate the first principal use of aluminum (rather than steel) to construct passenger cars. Tremendous savings in weight and the elimination of the rust problem.
