A few days ago I posted 3 items for sale here on CCF as I wanted extra money to bid on a item of interest..

The Silver Dollar lot sold minutes after I posted it, and the 2nd silver coin lot I believe will be sold instantly when I lower the price today..

My question is on this heavy Silver Owl I listed here..

http://goccf.com/t/274085

The only marking I can find is ".925".. This thing weighs 384 grams, and I've done all I can, short of cutting it in half, to try and confirm this is silver..

Today is the last day of trying to sell this piece before I pull it and cut it up for scrap (if it's real) or garbage (if it's not pure .925 silver)..

It was recommended I have this tested, but time permits this as I'm placing my bid Saturday night..

Thought I would try this forum before pulling it tomorrow..

I tried searching the Internet for something close to this & received zero results..

My Interest is in Global Errors and not Silver Statues..

I don't know if this is real or a good fake, and thought the members in this forum could give your opinion, as the clock is ticking down, and my last resort is to just cut it into pieces..

Thanks.

I believe most bullion dealers and pawn shops have the ability to test the silver content (at least the outer layers). Have you tried an acid test or otherwise verified through at home methods? I bet it is sterling but would be leary of buying it without confirmation.

I haven't Acid Tested Silver and Gold in over 10 years, and the Silver Acid would damage the coins..
I do have a good Electronic Gold Tester that makes a good Paper Weight when silver is involved..

I received this in payment a while back, and even though I didn't want any money, they wanted me to have it..

With all the fraud on the Internet, you can't be to careful, and this is why I want to confirm this is the real thing, and since I was only looking for spot + postage, cutting this in pieces is not a problem, and if genuine, will have to wait for spot/scrape to increase and sell later..

I know Errors and thought if someone educated enough in .925 Silver Statues can confirm at a glance, would jump on this, as I do in Errors, thus securing the money to cover my bid..

The last photos I posted, I thought was Silver Plated under UV light, then when I shaved a small section, it was Silver under whatever the coating was..

Was looking for other ways to test it in house..
