You might find my demonstration pic on dating an Ottoman Egyptian coin helpful:

On your coin, the accession date is 1293, the regnal year is 27. Add these two numbers together, subtract 1 and you get an actual AH year of issue of 1319. Convert this AH year to AD and you get April 1901 to April 1902 (so it's mostly 1901).
On the other side (this side is normally considered the obverse) is the
toughra, and is actually the ornate signature of the Sultan. Beneath the toughra, you can see a small squiggle with the numeral "1" above it. This is the denomination; the squiggle is the Arabic letter
shin (pronounced "sh") and stands for the denomination "qirsh".
Thus, what we have here is an Ottoman Egypt 1 qirsh, 1901, KM# 299. At this time, Egypt was striking both silver and cupronickel 1 qirsh coins. Alas, yours is the
cupronickel variety. The silver ones looked
like this.
