Hi guys,

I picked up this 50 cent piece last weekend and as I was taking a closer look, the mintmark jumped out as being unusual. I went to Variety Vista, but didn't find a match. Maybe a new discovery?

To the left of the D, is a very prominent extra upright for the D mintmark along the whole side. (Not sure how to describe it.)

My pictures aren't the best for it, but hopefully you can see what I'm talking about.

Certainly looks like an RPM to me, too. I'm not well acquainted with those from this series, so hopefully a more knowledgeable RPM expert will chime in.

This is machine damage. Note how it is shelf like and reduces the size of the devices. Even through the glare I can see it on America

The main "D" is actually regular size and the extra mark makes the mintmark larger (compared to a regular one). Also, the effect you are seeing on the America is from the lighting/shadow, there is nothing there. (I'm just still working out my photography skills.)
