hi all , found this 2002 p LMC with what seems like some kind of silver plating fill in ? ...it looks like whatever it is was used to fill in a copper peel or ? ...has anyone seen something like this ....thanks for your replys...

Looks like a stain to me.

hi dustin, whats crazy is why would someone try to cover up whatever defect that was there? it's a penny, you can see the line that goes across that area.....you can also see the cover up in the photo from reverse, that little spot that was filled in.....thanks.

Right. Not saying someone did this. Saying possibly it got stained by something

I don't think it's a stain. It may be a spot that somehow got a corrosive that dissolves Copper but not Zinc on it.

It almost appears as if something ate the Copper plating away in that area only.

It doesn't look right for a partial plate.

It looks like zinc showing through. Damage of some sort.
