ebay is full of 70-S large dates posing as "small dates". I'm pretty certain all these auctions are misattributed (and perhaps a few more). If you're going to buy one on ebay, it's best to get it slabbed--or be totally certain.

You are right, Kurt. And, it goes on all of the time.I wonder if it is intentional or they just don't know.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they've never actually seen a small date. It was 10 years before I actually found my first--but I knew right away...funny.

Update:
to one guy's credit, he's decided to de-list the auction.

i even got some of the one you are talking about.i do have a true small date.only thing is I am keeping all the s mint in the memorials 68 to 74.
