My credit union told me they have a few bags of half dollars I can buy from them to search. I hesitated because and correct me if I am wrong but dont these coin counter machines reject silver? This would mean these bags are clad only. Is my assumption correct.

I think take a chance. I have seen a lot of silver coming from bags of coins.

No, they do not reject silver.
Go for it, But do not be surprised if the bags are short.
I wish I could find a bank that would sell me bags. I had one for a while but they got a new manager and she would not sell me any. I seen them take bags out with silver in them and I could not convince her to sell me the bags .

Depends on the type of counter. Some do, dome don't. Some can be programmed to reject.
Why not buy a bag to find out? All the bags I've bought in the past, if void of silver, they were over count by ten to fifteen dollars in quarters, dimes, nickels and cents.

Although, you may consider this, do you know if there are a lot of roll hunters in your area? is this the only coin machine locally? you may just hit someone dump as well.

I think there might be silver in them, because usually the only machines that reject silver are government-owned machines designed to pull silver coins out of circulation for melting, or an expensive machine owned by a devoted coin roll hunter. Otherwise, most machines would not reject silver.
