Update on this coin. Resubmitted to ICCS and came back MS62. Thanks again for playing.

Thanks for adding that...I thought that I would get blasted for adding that same comment in another thread a few days ago..

Congratulations on the resubmission. Would anyone consider this grade creep/inflation or
was it just undergraded originally or is it just the reality of dealing with TPG's today? I agree
with Alans assessment. IMO from AU 58 to MS 62 is understandable but from AU 55
to MS 62 is a pretty good bump.

Brian, at ICCS, personally collects this series so he is/was tough on the grading for the 5 cent silvers. I personally don't agree with the 55 to 62 jump. I think someone else graded it this time. What you get on cardboard and plastic is a single person's opinion. Unfortunately, that opinion can make a 500% difference in book value. To an educated buyer, the book price means nothing ... but to someone who buys the cardboard, and not the coin, it means he paid way too much. TPG's are getting out of hand with their recert gross jumps.

There's no wear on this coin. It should never have been in an AU-55 holder, which is why I picked it up. While gradeflation is an issue, I would say the initial assessment from 25 years ago was off considerably.

Without the coin in hand, it's tough to tell. But it looks like there may be slight wear on the ear, the tuft below the ear and the laurel leaf above the ear. Those are the highest points on the Obv. The Rev looks great.
