I have looked all over and don't see any documentation on any mint errors on the 1921 Morgan half dollar however, looking at the observe the reverse I can see where the line through left wing creates the line in the eye on the observe. I am also extremely interested in the depth of ear on the observe. And finally, looking closely at the wreath, there appears to be a break of some type directly below the eagles claws. There is no mintmark, and the detail is very clear. Any suggestions as to what I have here?

I'm sorry but I'm having difficulty seeing what you are seeing. Are you talking about the mark in the bow on the wreath?

I am extremely new at all of this so I apologize in advance. I am not sure what you mean by undexing my images. Yes, I was referring to the hole in the wreath oldmike. The other question I had was, and maybe this is the indexing thing, is the line by the eye and ear hole (apologies) are so deep in comparison to everything else, is that normal?

to CCF. Indexing means post the pics so the coin is not sideways, should be right side up. Your coin is a Morgan dollar not a Morgan Half.

I'm also not seeing anything unusual. Look online for other examples of 1921 Morgan dollars and compare to yours. Then let us know the differences you see.

Kimberly to CCF,

It is usually a bit difficult on the first post.

As far as the wreath - on the bow itself is an M for the designer Morgan, If you are seeing an indent or what we refer to as incuse marking on the coin then it may have taken a hit from another coin in that area. Here is a photo of the wreath bow area on a 1921 S that may help you for comparison
