where would you send and error coin to get certified and graded. I have found a few coins that errors with a fairly good grade. I have never done this. so any help would be greatly appreciated. another question if the error is very oblivious. but the error is not identified anywhere on google or any other site. would they include that in the description. thank you for any help. for myself to understand this process.

Depends all on value, a really cool double strike or off planchet worth close to 1000.00 is worth grading by PCGS but it's very expensive CCCS will also grade lot cheaper but has very little weight in the US,

CCCS might include the description if it is a legitimate error. Though it would be better to post images here on this site first & get some second opinions. If you submit coins with PMD to a grader, that would just be a waste of money - they will return to you "body bagged" & without a grade.

(Also, ). Curious now on what you have!

Rocky I think I understand your query but , consider first posting photos of your error coins here to obtain opinions. I think most buyers of error coins pay attention to the coin but not what's written on the slab anyway. The advantage of this forum is that it's possible for you to gain an understanding not only the type of error, but how it occurred. It also serves as a interesting learning experience for others (such as myself) who are not experts.

post some photos and we can help you for free.

Being uncertain of what you have and hoping a TPG will figure it out is a very expensive education.

If the coin hasn't been ID'd as a legitimate error/variety somewhere (Trends, Charlton, etc) then you have very little chance to have any TPG certify it as a variety/error. Louis, at CCCS will certify some varieties/errors but he has been burned badly in the past on the coin sites when he has done so .. he may not touch it. Usually, to have a variety or error cert'd in the tile, it costs about twice as much as a normal coin. If the coin that you are interested in isn't worth more than $200 (actual selling price, not a book price), then I think that it would be a waste of your money. There are lots of weird counterfeits or garage jobs out there .. if you have never seen it mentioned on one of these coin sites, I'd be vary very cautious.
