I thought I'd post an odd an interesting collection. I found a very well presented set of all the Canadian Silver $4 dollar coins on the NGC forum. A pretty neat little set!

Complete Silver $4 set with perfect grades: http://coins.www.collectors-society...SetID=174435

Nice to see a collector dedicated to his/her task - set a focus, demanded top quality and assembled the set over time!

Yes, quite the price. However it's also noted it took 7 years to complete so the cost averaged only about $500 per year. Probably far less than the average NCLT accumulation collector spends.

I think it's a cool collection and I greatly admire the dedication to complete the challenge at a pf70 benchmark.

Correct me if I wrong, but it not a complete set of $4 for this period.
Missing are 2013, 2014, 2015 $4 SMLs (1/2oz coins) from the Fractional Sets.

But possible, that there are none of the coins above that were graded PF 70 Ultra Cameo.

Anyway, great idea and respect to collector.

Hi Silveroid,
NGC considers those to be 'bullion' issues I suppose. I don't remember how the Charlton guide separates them. I'll post another cool collection next week from one of the other NGC big guns (Dan Hughes, Augustus or Martens)

I have a set of 25mm one Dollar Australian Silver proof coins all graded by PCGS with an average grade of 69.407 according to my set registry.
My set consists of 56 different coins and it wasn't that easy to accumulate and have all these graded over the past few years But I really enjoy the set.
Getting all these coins in PR70 would be absolutely amazing But with my set that just isn't the case.
I know just how tough it is to put these sort of sets together and I absolutely take my Hat off to whoever had the tenacity to put a complete set of 70 graded coins together

I was surprised that there were this many commemorative $4 coins. I grew up in Queenston, so I like the War of 1812 commemoratives. It would be nice to see more people build this set and I may even try to build one in NGC myself!!
