If you add a choice between BU and PROOF,witch of these would you keep and why?

This is the question I am asking my self and that I need an opinion.

I would choose BU because I simply prefer to collect them. I'm not really a collector of proof coins.

G'day,
proofs are very pretty; they demonstrate the art & science of what is possible at the mint. But they are not circulating money ...

BU are the real deal: saved from circulation before they get too worn. Each year, they can be had for face value. They make waiting in the bank seem worthwhile. And they emerge at other venues, at any time of night or day, to brighten a collector's weary journey.

No contest, really, from where I sit.

who still hasn't been able to put together a full set of 2007 ...

Probably BU it represents better coins used for circulation. The exception would be low-mintage proofs that weren't minted for circulation.

For my spouse (important), family, friends, mom, pa, crowd, etc: PROOF no doubt about that.

For me: I want them all. But if I had to sell everything except 1 coin I would keep the rarest Proof.
