Well guys...the acetone bath did absolutely nothing to the coin except take a bit of the black spot off the front. I know you guys can't see it hands on...but it's part of the coin. It's not something that's spilled. I don't get it..if it has no value, it really doesn't matter much other than being a novelty. And to have to wait to PM someone, mail it out, pay to have it mailed back, I guess it is what it is right. Thanks guys for all of your comments. Through reading the forum board... I've learned quite a bit about some of the errors on the Lincoln pennies, so something good came out of this. There's a coin shop about an hour from me....maybe next time I'm heading that way, I'll take it by and let them check it out....unless any of you guys are in VA.
