...is this just a rare blip of Krause's...
Unfortunately, such "blips" have become all too common in the past decade or so. Going digital in the 1990's and splitting up the book into multiple volumes by century seem to have caused most of their troubles.
Having a monopoly on world coin catalogues seemed to have made them sloppy and careless as far as maintaining quality was concerned. They've only recently started to pick up their game again.
Here's some wisdom I learned the hard way: next time you update your Krause catalogue, don't throw the old one away until you've checked to see there aren't any major errors or omissions in the parts of the catalogue you're interested in. I sold my old Krauses and Craig when I bought a new set of Krauses in 2006, because I didn't have space to store them all. Now I wish I'd found the space, because I'm now stuck with the errors and omissions my new ones contain.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
