In order to identify traces of wear you could search for images of BU coins and compare them. I'd say wear becomes visible at the highest points of the waves. It is definitely not BU. I was wondering, though, is the eye supposed to be raised or relatively flat compared to the other elements? I saw some pictures that made it look very convex.
