If your talking about the thickening on the date of the 1972 coin, I suspect you actually have a nice doubled die. The script and dates (and much of the obverse) are almost twice as thick as appears on normal coins. I think the thickening is also extremely noticeable on the first letter (on the right) which is the word Jamhoriyah (republic).
Do you have the coin in hand and can you look at some of the characters of the 1972 coin under magnification? I can almost make out some 'notching' (separation of die impressions) on the Islamic date 1392.
