I was down at the RCM boutique this weekend, for the 'strike your own token' event. I generally only buy NCLT now, when I see Vancouver Canucks stuff. But, something caught my eye, and I bought it. It is a $10 silver coin, with Kruger-Gray's iconic engraving that was on the 1937-2012 small 1-cent coin. Note that I do collect all strikes of Canadian small cent coins. However, I did not buy the other gimmicky "1-cent coins" like the 5 oz 1967 dove or the 2017 'Legacy of the Penny" coins... I bought this one, because there was no colour, no selective gold plating and the really nice specimen finish. The design is original as it was in 1937, and it does not look like it was "engraved to death". I am really happy with this coin, and it was only $30 (which is not bad for 15 grams of silver, considering the normal RCM markup). In my opinion, they got this one right... This one caught my eye too... well done, and no "glow in the dark paint" or "diamond dust" like nearly every other recent issue. This one is simply a great "traditional" coin!

I too saw this coin at CP and agree it is a beauty.
Interesting note - The lady at CP said her biggest 150th seller is the 2017 1/2 oz. Pure Silver Coloured Coin - Celebrating Canada's 150th Coin Series: Grizzly Bear (it has the coloured grizzly bear picture on the reverse). Said she re-ordered these and immediately sold out again.
Cheers!

Imo, so far the best of the 2017.
Great "in hand", the leafs have some relief (exactly like on the the Penny coin). Packaging, not the coin, has "150 Anniversary" logo / symbol.

I also like the traditional approach taken with this coin. I picked one up when I placed my order for the 150th silver dollar. They make a nice pair!

Looks sharp! I might get one. Don't normally buy commemoratives. I wish the US Mint would make fractional sized silver commemoratives like this. How large is the black box?

I rarely buy NCLT, maybe one or two a year suits my fancy. I was at the PO last Saturday, saw this coin and couldn't resist, this coin has "it". Truly a beauty for the money paid.
