First time user of a Dansco. Like the album quality and ability to view both sides of the coins. Hate the fact that I find it extremely difficult to slide the inserts out to replace or add a coin. Can someone recommend a safe and suitable modification to the sliders for easy withdrawal? All suggestions would be appreciated. nlp

My only answer has been to not push the sliders in all the way, leaving a little edge to grip.

Meh, I just put my finger on them and push them out. I don't think I'm damaging the coin.

tape on the end of slide, I just cut the tape in half an it has work for me. It will not effect the coin.

This is what I did to mine to solve that problem, this is a old picture but you can still see what I did to all the pages so I could get the sliders out easier

I use 2x2's exclusively. Can see both sides of coins too.

You "Whitmaned" your Dansco! Bryan, those are some nice arcs! Did you use a punch tool or cut it "by hand"? I have never had an in/out problem with the sliders; care and patience are key! The only real problem I have had are that the slides are loose on some albums and expose the coins if not lined up.

I have seen photos of several Dansco album pages showing the type coins. I am very troubled by the lack of completeness of the types. In the pages shown above, the Type I of the bust dime is not there, nor are the No Stars Liberty Seated half dime and dime. I don't consider those minor varieties, but major types. Just my personal preference of course, but there it is. I have seen other photos of other pages and there are many! types missing. Does this bother anyone else?

I use nothing but Whitman Albums and thoes have the slots at the end so you can grab the slides and pull them out. However, many do not come out so easily anyway. Possibly if you use a needlenose pliers you could grab lift the edges and pull the slides out with the pliers. I usually use them on the Whitman ones even though they have the area where you should be able to grab with fingers.

I learned this from a coin dealer. He just sticks a piece of scotch tape to one of the windows and pulls to the side. The slider comes out just enought for you to get hold of real easy. Works for me quite well.

rohumpy.... Yes it does bother me. I keep extra types in my "Type Box" which also includes some colonial coins used in this area before the U.S. was formed. The gold type page for the 7070 is also incomplete....of course....I don't own a stella....lol!
