Lol, theres 4 pickup points I look at. The A in STATES, the M in AMERICA, the gap between the A and M on the bottom legs and the inittials FG. Usually tho the A in STATES for me has never failed me and should be perfectly centered for Wide AM and favor the right on the Close AM's

This is a WAM. The legs of the A and M should be touching or just barely touching.

Agree with everyone above me -- Wide AM. Slamn is way more precise than I am. I go two steps: 1) Look for gap between A and M, which should be a tiny bit smaller than the gap between M and E; 2) Look at designer's initials, not for spacing which can be difficult without a comparison coin on hand, but for the serifs (crossbar) on the G.

Normal cent, sorry. See how close the FG is to the memorial. I use this to remember the wide/close AM thing: Wide AM, Close FG "Wide" FG, Close AM
