I would like to start a type face themed collection. But, I don't just want cursive. I would like examples of slab, serif, sans serif, monospace "ugly" for design people, etc. Here's an example. Size, weight, composition, country of origin- DO NOT MATTER. I'm a graphic artist/ print nerd. So, this is will be a special facet of my collection

Going back in time a ways (to medieval, pre-Gutenberg Europe), you may find these two great threads by Spence to be of some interest:

This is a very interesting focus. There must be more modern world coin
examples of coins with large lettering, and interesting typeface?

Should be quite the collection. Any clue about specific type faces you are shooting for? I don't think most coins are in a font that has a specific name. I know that nickels and cents at least have made some nearly-imperceptible changes over the decades.

This is one of my personal favorites:

The quality control on these rupees from Bundi was horrendous; you could get some that were clear as day, and some that almost looked like a foreign language.

Also, are you sticking to the Latin alphabet only? There are some fascinating calligraphy styles on Asian coins, but that could quickly turn a collection into a death march.

I would also definitely recommend looking into the beginning with some Roman coins. The lettering on the bronzes from Augustus through Nero is just superb; it looks almost exactly like what you see on the ancient monuments.

Here's my beat up Claudius:

This sounds rather interesting and unusual.

Something to consider:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces4115.html
This style was used for the following Polish coins: 1 grosz, 2 grosze, 5 groszy (1923-1939), 10 groszy, 20 groszy, 50 groszy (1923), as well as the German wartime occupation versions made of zinc.

Then, there are the writing styles used on pre-1949 German coins, like these:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2342.html

Also, the city of Bremen had a different font on the obverses of their silver coins (2 mark 1904 and 5 mark 1906):

DL20K- The Groszy is a nice start. Thanks. As for specific families; I'd really like to find a pronounced example of Optima

Those Polish and German coins are great examples!
How about the Italian war time Lire, also 1960s French
Polynesia, and British East Africa 1940s to 1960s?

Sorry for the bump: but here is a very interesting example that reminds me of those "ransom letters" from the movies:
