Offset Printing Error, $5 Note - Coin Community Forum

Kfseadog Valued Member United States 50 Posts	Posted 02/04/2017 8:09 pm After some research, I have figured out that the transferred serial number on the back is referred to as an "offset" printing error or printing transfer. So I've listed it online as such. However, I've since realized the serial number on the reverse can't possibly be the same - it'd have to be another sequential number if it was actually a printing transfer. So in looking at the note again, I do see instead of 666999, it ends with 667000 on the reverse. So my question is: because I did not list this fact specifically, am I shortchanging myself by not indicating such? Or is it so common that I shouldn't expect there to be a difference in the final value irrespective of what the transferred serial number is on the reverse? If it's the case, I'll need to update the listing so I'm not misrepresenting the note. Why do only the serial numbers and seals show through - are those features added as a separate printing step?
