Hi all. I picked this up yesterday. Two things caught my eye: 1. Am I correct that it is a woody? 2. Is the piece of missing metal on the obverse a lamination issue?
I've been trying to get a picture that better shows the woody characteristics. This is the best I've been able to do:
Thanks everyone! Having never seen a woody nickle, I'm pretty happy about this one. And, it fits a hole in my WWII collection. It's not a "high grade" coin to most, but it is to me!
