Did you happen to ask them what grade they came up with that way you would know what the value was ?

I have some inexpensive coins that I submitted to ANACS to their old address because that was what they had on their website. My coins were forwarded to the new site in Colorado. Seems like it took and inordinate amount of time but they included a coupon for grading of two coins if I want to be used by the end of Dec. 2008. As far as I know the website still doesn't work to track your submission. I don't think that the transmission went well but they are getting on top of everything. I don't think he is looking for a fancy plastic container just to prove what he already knows. I believe that Jim has submitted to help his wife in the event that he is deceased before her. A loving gesture on his part if you were to ask me. The only other time I've known of a mixup and I don't recall the TPG was an 1877 IH where the submitter received a lesser grade !877 IH in return but it was straightened out and he received his submission back. I know it's hard but hang in there and see what comes out.

Shamrock, The situation you mention underscores how important it's for collectors to document their coins prior to shipping to a TPG. I'm planning to take detailed photos before I ship off coins.

Kurt S, The fellow I refered to in my previous post had taken pictures. It's probably been 5 years now since it happened. When businesses change hands many but not all times, it's not good. I don't think that ANACS buyout was for the wrong reasons but the day to day operations are probably being handled by the inexperienced not the grading. The dust will settle and and things should start operating on an even keel. Paul

It's been 12 days now since ANACS discovered they sent your coin to the wrong person. Have you heard anything more from them? If not I think I would be back on the phone to them.
